Once again the McCulloch County Helping Hands, in cooperation with area ranchers, has made arrangements with Steve’s Meat Market to accept field-dressed deer for individuals or families wanting venison during the 2003 deer season. “This service continues to help reinforce the purpose of Helping Hands,” said director Dorothy Lafuente. “Last year 81 families were assisted with this program.” The processing of venison will be the sole responsibility of the recipient. “We appreciate the ranchers, Steve’s Meat Market, the Chamber of Commerce and the hunters working with us in this matter,” Mrs. Lafuente said. To sign up for a field-dressed deer or for further information, please contact Mrs. Lafuente at 597-2646.
