Brady Floral moves to square, Vicki Petty purchases business

With a weekend move to the north side of the square, Brady Floral is open for business in its new location under new ownership. Vicki Petty and her silent partner, Benton Carter, (Vicki’s father) recently purchased Brady Floral from former owners, Nelda Martin and Donna Jordan. The business officially changed hands on Sept. 30, and the change in location happened this weekend. “This was an opportunity that came open at just the right time,” said Ms. Petty. “This was something we had been looking at for almost a year and things just fell together. “My family and I had been praying about it because I was looking for something that would allow me to be more flexible with my girls and everything seemed to just fall into place. It was something that I had been doing on the side for friends, so I decided to make a go of it full time.” Mrs. Jordan will remain on staff at Brady Floral as the top floral designer. Located in the shop that used to house Gift Gallery and Christie’s Room, besides a floral shop, Ms. Petty plans to incorporate antiques and gift items into the store. She has leased four small booth spaces to various vendors in which they will place a variety of collectibles and gift items. “We are really excited about our new location,” said Ms. Petty. “We gained a significant amount of interior space as well as a more easily accessible facility for traffic. “We have a lot planned for the upcoming holiday season,” she continued. “We are going to expand our delivery area and we are going to specialize in custom-ordered arrangements and requests such as table pieces and holiday arrangements. “Donna, my daughters, Chelsea and Callie, and I have been working hard getting things ready,” she said. “We have a lot left to do, but we will get there soon.” Brady Floral will be open for business Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. They have scheduled a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration on Oct. 22.
