McCulloch County Crimestoppers and local law enforcement agencies are looking for the help of the community to solve several area crimes that were committed over the past several weeks. The most recent incident involves vandalism to the Brady High School. According to BHS principal Leisa Land, sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, unknown persons vandalized numerous exterior door locks at the high school. Locks on the gymnasium, coaches office and several other areas of the exterior were damaged and will require new locks to be installed. Also over the past two weeks, two separate incidents of burglary of a vehicle occurred in the 2000 block of South China as well as along Grand Avenue resulting in several stolen firearms. According to Crimestoppers officials, several other buglaries have also been reported in the southwest portions of the Brady city limits. A third incident under investigation by Brady police involves the buglary of the New Song Christian Fellowship Church located in the old Brady Junior High building on Fourth and High Streets. Initial reports state that several thousand dollars worth of electronic equipment were stolen sometime during the business week last week. The criminals apparently gained entry by breaking a window in the building. “We want people to know that Crimestoppers is actively seeking any tips for crimes committed in the area,” said Crimestoppers representative Bill Derrick. “Just last week we paid out a cash reward for a quick tip that someone anonymously gave on our tip line. “We have the cash, and it is there for anyone who can help give tips in any of these or other unsolved cases,” said Derrick. People with information on these or any other crimes can be given anonymously by calling 456-TIPS (8477).
