Gladys Lorene Pike, 83, of Mason, died Wednesday, Oct. 1. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Mason, Rev. Robert Cheatheam officiating. Burial followed in the Gooch Cemetery, under the direction of Mason Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Curtis Pike, Michael Pike, Doug Johnson, Gary Cravey, Thomas Cahill and Mark Dockal Jr. She was born July 18, 1920, in Streeter, to Elmer Cravey and Pearl Solomon Cravey. She was a graduate of Mason High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mason. She married Slayden Pike and they had five children. She worked at the Mason Hospital for 21 years as a certified nurses aid. Survivors include her children, Debbie Dockal and husband, Mark, of Mason, Betty June Clifton and husband, Everet, of Garden City and Jerry Pike and wife, Linda, of Brady. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mark Dockal, Jr., Andy Dockal, Jolena Adams, Shirley Copeland and husband, Roberg, Sammy Clifton and wife, Jenny, Curtis Pike, Michael Pike and Scott Pike; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by two infant children, Larry and Verlin Pike; her husband, Slayden L. Pike in September of 1985; and a grandson, Jason Pike in 1974.
