Martin Rayo has been named the new manager of the Brady Wal-Mart. Rayo, who has more than eight years of experience, including five with Wal-Mart, began his duties on July 26. “I’m excited to have this wonderful opportunity,” Rayo said. “This is a great community, and I know the associates here have worked hard to serve their customers. I look forward to making this ‘my Wal-Mart’ and helping them continue that tradition.” Rayo began his retailing career with Wal- Mart in 1998 as an overnight stocker in Dodge City, Kan. He entered the management training program in Garden City, Kan., and was promoted to assistant manager, a position he held until his promotion to the Brady store. As an assistant manager, he was named a Rising Star at Wal-Mart, a program that recognizes high-performing associates. Prior to his career at Wal-Mart, Rayo owned a school and office supply store. “We’re pleased to have Martin here,” said Wal-Mart District Manager Wayne Berg. “It’s a good opportunity for him, and his proven retail experience and strong customer service skills will benefit the customers and associates in this community.” In Garden City, Rayo was a member of the local Lion’s Club. As part of Wal-Mart’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the communities it serves by being personally involved in the community, he plans to pursue similar memberships in Brady. Rayo and his wife, Hada, have two sons, Allan, 4 and Tristan, 1 month.
