El Mesias Methodist Church, a predominantly hispanic church located on West White Street in Brady, has a new preacher. Elsa Ramiez, a Methodist minister from San Juan, was recently appointed to the church by the area conference of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ramirez comes to El Mesias after serving the Cristo Salva Church in San Juan since 1999. She most recently has taught a class and been a part-time pastor at the Perkins School of Theology in Dallas. “For the past four years, I have been able to serve God and the people of my church,” said Mrs. Ramirez. “In moving my family to Brady, I hope to help the community and give it my best effort in preaching the Gospel.” Mrs. Ramirez is married to Jose, and together they have two boys, Jose Jr., 8, and Edgar, 7.
