One score was all it took for the Brady seventh grade A team to post a win in the books as they traveled to Sonora Thursday and brought home a 6-0 victory. Defense was the name of the game on both sides of the ball for the young Bulldogs. Brady’s offense, however, took the uppper hand on the ground amassing eight first downs coming on 29 rushes for 135 total yards. The Bulldog defense shut down the Broncos completely and allowed only two first downs for the entire game. The Bulldogs’ winning score capped off a 76-yard drive that consisted of stellar runs that ate up big chunks of real estate. Isaiah Conrad rambled off 20 yards on one carry followed soon thereafter by Zac Conrad’s 16-yard scamper. Isaiah took it in for the score on a 26-yard run to give the Bulldogs the edge. “Isaiah had 15 rushes for 111 yards and one touchdown as well as posting seven tackles on defense,” said coach Brian Shipman. “Several other players had good efforts as well. Greg Torres recovered an onside kick, Eli Conrad and Daniel McCormick, T.J. Turk, Laret Lawrence and Ruben Resendez each had two tackles on defense. The seventh graders will host Comfort this Thursday with the first game beginning at 4:40 p.m.
