Brady JV ‘Black’ team falls to Ozona’s passes

The Ozona Lions’ JV scored at will in the first half and went on to crush the Brady JV Black team at Ozona last Thursday evening, 40-6. The Lions held a 33-0 lead at halftime before the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter on a three-yard run by Brian Harris. Scoring at will in the first half, the Lions got their initial TD on a 22-yard pass and a two- point conversion. They tallied again later in the first quarter on a 16-yard pass. This time they booted the PAT. Ozona had three scoring passes in the second quarter. The first was a 47-yard aerial, followed by a 35-yarder and one from 70 yards. None of the PATs were successful. There was no scoring in the third quarter, they came Brady’s touchdown. Ozona closed out the scoring later in the quarter on a 15-yard run. Brady coach Heath Regeon said that Harris did a good job carrying the football from the tailback position. “Defensively, we had too many blown coverages in the secondary. The linebackers and linemen had a good game,” he said. The Bulldogs will host Sonora Thursday night.
