Sales good at cook-off

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 12 noon at the Caf’ on the Square. President Brad Bowen reported on the Goat Cook-off sales by the Rotary Club. We had good sales and appreciate all the helpers, including the Brady High School students. Steve McCarn, assistant Superintendent of Brady Independent School District, was introduced as the newest member of the Brady Rotary Club. Program chairman Lynn Munden introduced Tallie Wright, senior at BHS. She is president of the Interact Club. She told us of the projects and activities that the club does: ‘ Goat Cook-Off ‘ Thanksgiving food drive ‘ Luncheon for new students ‘ Angels at Christmas ‘ Wrapping Christmas gifts at Helping Hands ‘ Veteran’s Day reception (partici- pates in assembly) ‘ Crazy leg competition ‘ Polio drive (collecting pennies) ‘ Rotary Youth Leadership As- sembly ‘Cystic Fibrosis Bike-a-thon ‘ Candy fund-raiser The Interact Club invites visitors to the meetings held at the BHS auditorium at 12:05 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The $2 bill was won by Bill Ricks for knowing who will tie James Arness’ TV record of 20 years playing the same character’Kelsey Grammar. Program chairman for Sept. 9 is Wadena McAlister.
