Brady’s JV football team got off on the right foot in Coleman last Friday when they blanked the Bluecats, 24-0. Under coach Larry Hoelscher and John Marler, the Bulldogs led 6-0 at halftime before putting the game out of reach in the third with a pair of scores. They added another in the fourth. The Bulldogs racked up 272 yards in total offense (86 rushing and 186 passing) while limiting Coleman to only 59 yards rushing and 0 passing. Quarterback Michael Land passed for three TDs in the romp over the Cats. Lance Andrews scored a pair of touchdowns for Brady, one on a pass from Land that covered 25 yards in the second quarter, and the second on a 35-yard pass from Land in the fourth period. Brandon Sammons caught a six-yard pass from Land in the third quarter for a score. Michael Cook returned a pass for 31 yards for the other touchdown. All point-after-touchdowns failed. The Bulldogs were to face Ozona Thursday evening.
