Knowing how to write an effective grant proposal will help an organization become more successful in obtaining funding for its projects. Concho Valley RC&D will be sponsoring a grant writing seminar in San Angelo on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 The seminar will be held in the San Angelo Council of Governments Building. The cost of the seminar will be $150 per registrant and will include grant writing materials. “The seminar will teach one the basic steps needed for developing skills for an oral proposal and structuring a written proposal for grant success,” said Tony Resendez, RC&D coordinator. “There is a need for grant writers in schools, hospitals, EMS units, volunteer fire departments, cities and community organizations and this is the perfect opportunity to attend a seminar like this close to home,” he said. The seminar format includes both lecture and interactive training with individuals working alone or in small groups. Larry Lancaster, a graduate of several grant-writing programs, will conduct the seminar. Lancaster has a proven tract record of obtaining grants and can show organizations how to get funding for their projects. The deadline for registration has been set for Sept. 24. Those needing more information should contact Resendez in Brady at 325-597-4666.
