Brady begins school Wednesday

School bells will ring on Wednesday, Aug. 20 for Brady High School students, however, upper classmen will get one more chance to sleep late because only freshmen students will need to report to school at 8 a.m. After a brief meeting in the auditorium, they will go through a shortened schedule with 10-minute classes. “We try to give the freshmen an opportunity to find their classrooms and lockers and meet their teachers before the upperclassmen arrive,” said new high school principal Liesa Land. “Also, it is less intimidating for the freshmen to come to school on the first day without a crowd of upperclassmen standing around.” Upperclassmen need to arrive at 10:15 a.m. unless they have a “zero hour” class. Zero hour will meet at 9:30 a.m. on the first day. After a short meeting in the auditorium, the students will follow the schedule below for the first day only. At 10:15 a.m., all students will report to the auditorium, and at 10:30 a.m., class meetings will be held for seniors (auditorium), juniors (band hall), sophomores (old gymnasium) and freshmen (new gymnasium). There are some changes to the schedule this year.
