Marvin E. Morris, 78, of Brady, died Friday, Aug. 8 at his residence in Brady. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Fairfax, Okla., to Byron Morris and Ora (Murphy) Morris. He married Dorothy Helen Matthews on Dec. 14, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. He was a materials supervisor for El Paso Products in Odessa for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Baptist and had been a resident of Brady since 1991. He was a member of the Brady Masonic Lodge, was a 32 Degree Mason, a novelty collector and a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Helen Morris of Brady; three sons, Marvin Morris and wife, Lorinda, of Albuquerque, N. Mex., James Morris and wife, Jaynan, of Odessa and John Morris and wife, Candy, of Gardendale; a sister, Nadine Calhoun of Houston; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Girling Hospice.
