Fund-raiser planed for Mexican Colony Park A fund-raiser is scheduled for July 25-26 for the Mexican Colony Park project at the park on Highway 87 North. There will be volleyball and horseshoe tournaments held on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Trophies and plaques will be awarded to first and second place winners. Volleyball teams must have six players, plus one alternate. A $5 donation per player will be required. The horseshoe teams must have two people per team and a $10 donation per team is required. On Saturday, July 26, a Luau carnival will be held at the park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, a cake walk, face painting and more. Tickets may be purchased for $3 for 10 or $5 for 20. There will be a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with Lupe Moreno as D.J. East Sweden Homecoming scheduled The East Sweden Annual Homecoming is scheduled for August 2-3. Sandwiches, ice cream and dessert will be served at the community center at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Music will be provided for entertainment. On Sunday, August 3, a short devotional will be held at 11 a.m. at the church. A catered barbecue lunch will be served for $6 a plate at the community center at noon. Multi-class reunion planned for Rochelle exes The Rochelle High School graduating classes of 1989-94 will re-unite for a day of fun, fellowship and reminiscing at the Heart of Texas Bible Camp in Brady on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and catered lunch plates will be available for purchase.
