VFW staying active in the summertime

Our meeting was opened at 7:30 p.m. on July 1 by Commander Clayton Moore. Officer of the Day Les Tybo checked membership and prepared the room for the salute to the colors. Chaplain Conley Purcell offered the opening prayer. Commander Moore led all members in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Roll call revealed that officers, Castro, Rubio, Cude and Hurd were absent. Fourteen members were present, and there were no guests. Comrade Tybo reported on his recent attendance at the State Convention in Corpus Christi. He stated that it was a positive meeting. Commander Moore represented Post 3234 at the District meeting on July 13. A motion was made and passed to donate $140 to the 7 on 7 football team which is made up of students from Brady High School. The team will attend the state tournament in College Station. Chaplain Purcell offered the closing prayer and Officer of the Day Tybo retired the colors and the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is on Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m. LADIES AUXILLARY FELLOWSHIP DINNER The Ladies Auxilliary will host their monthly fellowship dinner on Monday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. This meal is open to anyone in the community who would like to come enjoy a good meal and fellowship.
