Thomas Raymond (Holly) Hollingsworth, Jr., 62, of Brady, died Thursday, July 10 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, July 14 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Brady with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Brother Glen McDonald officiated the service. Hollingsworth was born Feb. 16, 1941, to Thomas Raymond and Edith Faye (Gonto) Hollingsworth, Sr., in Norfolk, Va. He married Carolyn Jean Simons in 1962. They had two daughters together. He later married Rose Lanice Richardson on Sept. 3, 1971. Their relationship produced two boys. Lanice preceded him in death on May 9, 1991. On Feb. 15, he married Joyce Taylor in Brady. He worked as the superintendent of postal operations in Brady for 10 years and then served as the postmaster in San Saba until his retirement. He was a Navy veteran, a member of the Heart of Texas Golf Association and a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Brady; two daughters, Donna Lee Wray and husband, Brian, and Holly Ann Perry and husband, Clayton, all of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Thomas Raymond (Tommy) Hollingsworth, III and wife, Jennifer, of Davenport, Ia. and James Alexander (Alex) Hollingsworth of New Braunfels; a stepson, Taylor White and wife, Shannon, of Plano; eight grandchildren, Tyler Wray, Adam and Amber Perry, Brent and Morgan Hollingsworth and Conner, Jacob and Madeline White; a brother, John Hamilton Hollingsworth of Benbrook; and a large, extended family of good friends and relatives. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Faye Constantino and Ray Hollingsworth, Sr. Pallbearers were Mike Curry, Hank Norton, Raymond Rubio, Abel Muniz, Randy Williams and Heath Regeon. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
