Class project teaches students to use tools of the trade

BUILDING THEIR FUTURE’Students in the construction trades classes in Brady High School completed this 12×16 foot building throughout the past school year. The building was a class project that was taught by instructor David McCarver. Pictured are (left to right) Oscar Patino, Dusty Hayles, Eric Tomlinson, Brian Brown, Chris Aguero and Billy Harper. The Construction Trades Class of Brady High School completed an all-purpose building during the 2002-03 school year. The building is built of plywood siding and pressure-treated floor framing and sub floor. It features rafters that rise to a 12-foot roof beam giving the room a 12-foot high cathedral ceiling with a metal roof. Unfurnished on the inside, the exterior has been stained honey brown and is complimented by two bronze windows and a 3×6’8″ metal door. The interior of the building measures 12’x16′ with an added 4’x16′ front porch. “We built this building as our main class project and now we hope to sell it to raise funds to help us purchase tools and teaching materials for the 2003-04 school year,” said McCarver.
