With less than a week until the curtain goes up, the 2003 Miss Heart of Texas Pageant “More Than Just a Pretty Face” is a sold out performance with all 600 tickets already spoken for. The Saturday pageant will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature 12 McCulloch beauties with their future queens and escorts as they do their best to be crowned as the next Miss Heart of Texas. Hosted each year by the Theta Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, this year’s pageant will crown the 64th Miss Heart of Texas in conjunction with the 77th July Jubilee. Reining queen Kayce Pollok and her court Brittany Jackson and Leslie Ranne will preside over the event and pass on the traditional crown. As part of the entertainment for the audience this year, all past Miss Heart of Texas Queens have been invited back to the spotlight to share their accomplishments since each was crowned. A special showcase complete with photos of the former queens will be on display during the evening. Local jewelry store owners Bill and Michelle Derrick of Young’s Jewelry will emcee the event. Escorts for the evening will be Tyler Williams and Clifton Tally. Beta Sigma Phi members include: Tina Smith, Deena Moore, Mauri Blankenship, Christine Jones Patterson, Amanda Lowells, Kim Wright, Ginger Treadwell, Gina Hepburn, Angie Turner, Sterling Roddie, Barbara Hodges, Melissa Springer, Shellie Gibbs, Holly Stewart, Jill Mays, Stephanie Torrez, Roxanne Turnell, Kym Appleton, Camille Carrithers, Lisa Moreno, Christy McAnally, and Sara Howard.
