Council gives oath of office to new electee

The Brady City Council will meet in regular session Wednesday, June 4 in Council Chambers, and one of the first topics up for business will be the certification of the May 31 run-off election that had challenger Rey Garza defeating incumbent Matt Mills for Place 3 on the Brady City Council. Following that action item, Garza will take the oath of office as administered by city secretary Christi McAnally, and a mayor pro-tem will be appointed. The council will consider and act on a resolution authorizing signatures on bank accounts. In other business, the council will consider approving a 75-day waiver with the Texas Municipal Gas Corporation. As the next item on the agenda, the city council will consider and act on a marina report as presented by the Lake Committee, and the council will consider hiring an auditor for fiscal year 2002-2003. The council will also conduct the first reading of an ordinance of the City of Brady to amend the fiscal year 2002-2003 budget.
