Runoff will determine placement on Council

Early voting in the runoff election between incumbent Matt Mills and challenger Rey Garza for Place 3 on the Brady City Council came to an end Tuesday afternoon. According to city secretary Christi McAnally, the pre-election day voting for the runoff election “was about average for early voting.” Throughout Early voting, a total of 234 votes were cast at City Hall. In a regular election, a candidate must receive 50 percent plus one vote to win a seat on the Brady City Council; However, in a runoff election, the candidate that captures the greatest number of votes will assume the position. Election day is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall. Voters are required to present a valid driver’s license or voter’s registration card when registering to vote.
