Augusta Aline (Browder) Allcorn, 87, of Brady, died Monday, April 14 in Brady. Under the direction of Heritage Funeral Homes, a graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Brown County, Stan Allcorn officiating. Born Aug. 2, 1915, in Miles, she was the daughter of Clay and Florence (Perkins) Browder. She married J.C. (Jake) Allcorn Oct. 3, 1936, in Bangs. She was a teacher in Bangs, Mason, Melvin and Brady and a substitute teacher in Brownwood. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church, Texas State Teacher’s Association (TSTA), the Retired Teacher’s Association, the Sunset Center and the Adult Literacy Program. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Kidd and husband, Gordon, of Harper; a sister, Pauline McNatt of Newburg, Ore.; two grandsons, Jim Kidd and wife, Lisa, of Brady and Stacy Kidd and wife, Kelly of Jonesboro, Ark.; six great-grandchildren, Crystal, Samantha, Shawn, Brittany, Tori and Brandon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Allcorn; her parents; a daughter, Patty Coleman; a brother; and three sisters.
