Louise Burk Porter, 82, of Temple formerly of Blanket, died Wednesday, March 26 in Temple. Funeral, services were held Saturday, March 29 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Blanket, Clint Tunnell officiating. Burial followed at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Born March 27, 1920, in Brady, she was the daughter of Jesse and Clara Pennington Burk. She married Charles (Pinky) Porter on Aug. 19, 1939 in Brady. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blanket. She was a Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star and a WSCS member. She had been a resident of Temple for the last three years, formerly of Blanket. Survivors include her spouse, Charles Porter of Temple, formerly of Blanket; a son, Charlie Porter and wife, Janice, of Troy; three daughters, Martha Elizabeth Mauldin and husband, David, of Tomball, Colleen Louise Davis and husband, C.F., of Fayetteville, N.C. and Laura Ruth Leatherwood and husband, Jim, of Dublin; 11 grandchildren, Jodi Louise Pilgrim and husband, Michael, Greta Marie Jones and husband, David, Ronnie Charles Porter and wife, Christina, Jessica Ann Garris and husband, Jeff, Amanda Louise Mauldin, Sarah Elizabeth Bounds and husband, Daniel, Joy Camille Davis, Karissa Colleen Davis, Jonathan Mark Davis, Elise Clara Leatherwood and James Gabrial Leatherwood. Also surviving her are three great-grandchildren, Regan Louise Pilgrim, Rachael Beth Pilgrim and Riley Elizabeth Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Blanket.
