Young Lady Hornet tracksters take first at junior high meet in May

Spirits are “running” high at Rochelle Junior High now that the girls track team brought home a first place team finish in the May invitational track meet held Tuesday, March 25. “The girls finished in first place with 120 points,” said Rochelle track coach Tommy Meredith. “Santo was the runner-up with 108.5 points but was ahead 100.5 to 100 going into the mile relay. We finished first and they placed fourth to secure the win. “Seventh grader Roz Roueche was the high point girl for the meet with 45 points. I am proud of all these girls. They run with a lot of heart.” The following is a list of individual and team accomplishments: HIGH JUMP’Roz Roueche, first, 4’6; Amber Gossett, second, 4’6.
