Odessa grandmother praises local hospitality

Dear Editor: I was passing through Brady on Friday, March 21 with my one year old grandson in tow. He became fussy so we stopped at the Berkly’s Shell just before the Hwy 71 turnoff to Austin. After retrieving our refreshments, I put him in his car seat and accidently locked him in the car (it was running). The clerks on duty took action and called a local locksmith or mechanic for help. Within minutes “Tim” showed up with tools in hand. Tim informed me that a Mercedes is one of the most difficult cars to break into. He and I worked together for about twenty minutes and got the car unlocked. Baby was fine! I want to thank the ladies at Berkly’s Shell and “Tim the toolman” for coming to my rescue. Tim would not even accept payment for his services. It is those like Tim and the Berkly’s clerks that make Brady a town you should be very proud to call home. May God bless each of you. Sincerely, Mary Hunt; Odessa, Tex.
