Bulldog JV sweeps series from Early

Brady’s hot JV baseball team swept a doubleheader in Early Monday night, taking a 10-4 decision in the first game, and adding a 3-1 win in the second. Coach Mike Nu’iz’s squad collected 12 hits in the two five-inning affairs. Both Brady pitchers, Blaine Whittington and Bryan Boyd, went the distance for the Bulldogs. In the first game, the Dogs’ big inning was the second when they scored six times. Whittington gave up only four hits in his outing. Jacob Bierman’s two-RBI double was the Dogs’ big hit. Leading hitters for Brady were: ‘Felipe Bernal’2 for 2, 2 runs. ‘Daniel McAnally’1 for 1, 2 runs, 1 BB. ‘Bryan Boyd’2 for 4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs. ‘Matthew Watson, 1 for 2, 1 run, 2 RBIs. ‘Jacob Bierman, 1 for 2, double. The second game was much closer, but Brady got two runs in the first frame, and that was eventually enough for the victory. Boyd pitched a two-hitter in a sharp performance. Bierman got two of Brady’s four hits in the 3-1 game. Brady highlights: ‘Michael Cook’1 for 1, 1 run. ‘Bierman’2 for 3. ‘Watson’1 for 1, 1 run.
