Rochelle student places second in essay contest

Lacey Robbins of San Saba High School is the winner of an all expense paid trip to Washington D. C. sponsored by Central Texas Telephone Cooperative. The contest was open to all high school juniors at 14 area school districts whose families are members of the Cooperative. In the contest, students are asked to submit an essay on ‘How does telecommunications affect my life in rural Texas’ She will join students from all over the United States in Washington DC along with staff of National Telephone Cooperative Association (NTCA). While in Washington, students will tour national monuments, visit Arlington Cemetery, meet their congressman, observe how telephone cooperatives operate, see government in action, attend church services at the National Cathedral and visit many other exciting places. Cindy Hodges of Rochelle High School was the second place winner and won $150. Andy McCulloch of Mullin High School was our third place winner and he won $100.
