The Brady/McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce will hold its third annual Heart of Texas Car Show/Swap Meet in Richards Park on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5. The event will kick-off with a “Sonic Cruise Night” on Friday from 6-8 p.m. “This is a good time to get out your treasures and show them off,” said Chamber of Commerce executive director DeLaine Poe. At 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Car Show extravaganza will get underway. “Not only will we have cars that you can just walk around and admire, but we will have a car corral, vendors and food booths,” she said. “We are also going to have United States Audio Competition (USAC) with us again this year, so tune up your stereo systems and come and compete. “With games for the kids, this is definitely something the whole family can enjoy. “It is not too late to participate in this event. If you want to show a car, sell a car, get rid of all that ‘junk’ in your backyard or if you just want to cook up a storm, just contact the Chamber of Commerce at (915) 597-3491.” Anyone interested in adding an item to the welcome bags to advertise their business can also contact the Chamber at the above listed number or bring them by the Chamber of Commerce office at 101 East First Street in Brady by no later than Thursday, April 3. Approximately 250 cars will be showcased during this year’s event. “This year’s event is set to be the largest with the Ford Mustang Rally and numerous car clubs attending from all over Texas and New Mexico,” said Mrs. Poe.
