Amelia Jane Garmon, 55, of Menard died Saturday, March 15 in San Angelo. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Steve Tompkins officiating. Burial followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John Kniffen, George Sultemeier, Horace Wood, Michael Braly, Earle Henry and Larry Burch. Honorary pallbearer was Leslie Volkmann. Born Jan. 10, 1948, in San Angelo, she was the daughter of Lee Roy and Vera B. (Clark) Garmon. A Baptist, she enjoyed art and loved animals and children. She graduated with the class of 1966. Survivors include her mother, Vera Belle Garmon; two brothers, Ray Garmon and wife, Robin, of Austin and Joe Garmon of Menard; a sister, Carolyn Braly of College Station; three nephews, Patrick, Michael and Christian; numerous great nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins and a very special friend, Leslie Volkmann. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Garmon.
