Bangs pitcher Logan Stone threw a one-hitter through sixth innings at the Brady Bulldogs here Tuesday and the Dragons notched a 13-0 non-district baseball victory. The big righthander blanked the Dogs with his adept pitching. Abraham Cortez was the only Brady player to come up with a hit, a single. “They have a fine ball club,” Brady coach Bill Brown said Wednesday. “We stayed up with them until the final two innings.” Bangs picked up three runs in the first frame off Brady starter Jimmy Flores, who held the Dragons without a run in the next three innings. In the sixth, the Dragons got four runs then added five more in the last inning, the seventh. Jeremy Shields took over for Flores the fourth inning while Blaine Whittington relieved Shields in the sixth, and Chris Airheart came in the the seventh. Justin Garza slammed a three-run homer for Bangs in the sixth inning. Highlights for Brady were Cortez’s single, and Flores’ three innings in which he allowed one earned run, three hits, all singles, struck out one and walked one. The Bulldogs are now 1-3 on the season. They will be in the Llano tournament that started Thursday and will run through Saturday.
