The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, March 4 at 12 noon at the Caf’ on the Square. Student Rotarian Joe McKnight was present for his second visit. He informed the members of his intent to attend Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Houston and become an auto technician. He also recently placed first in the state in DECCA competition. Stan McAnally, local insurance agent, was the guest of Clair Whitesell. President Jeanagayle Behrens reminded members of our commitment to help Bluebonnet Casa by filling the milk jugs with pennies. Cynthia Quinn introduced Danny Neal, local publisher and golf course committee member. He informed the club of the proposed nine-hole expansion to the Brady Golf Course to 18 holes. This expansion would help the economy of this area. A sizeable sum has been contributed by a local donor to use for the watering system. We need to raise about $1.5 million to complete the course. If you wish to contribute, please see a local golfer. Contribution plaques will be placed at tee boxes. The Rotary Gift-of-the Month was won by Cynthia Quinn: an engraved glass candy dish. The $2 bill was won by Wadena McAlister for being the lucky handshaker. Program Chairman for Tuesday, March 11 is Caroline Parks.
