Oleta Gilbreath Penn Pillows, 84, of Lake Brownwood died Tuesday, March 4 at a Brownwood nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 7 at Hartland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Cox Cemetery. Born Jan. 8, 1919, in Milburn, she was the daughter of Andy and Lovie (Griffith) Gilbreath. She attended schools in Richland Springs. She married Burl Pillows on Aug. 18, 1962, in San Angelo. She was the secretary and treasurer for Penn Truck Service. She was a Baptist and a member of Eastern Star Chapter 752. She had lived at Lake Brownwood since 1985, formerly of Midkiff. Survivors include her husband, Burl Pillows of Lake Brownwood; two daughters, Jeanette Cloude and husband, Ronnie, of Maud and Jo Ann McLean and husband, Robert, of Brownwood; two sisters, Viola Mothershead and husband, Bill, of Winchell and Velma Adams and husband, Wesley, also of Winchell; a sister-in-law, Sharlene Gilbreath; a brother-in-law, Jack Johnson; four grandchildren, Danny Cloude, Renee Blesard, Craig Clements and Deborah Woodruff; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clifton Penn; a brother, Jack Gilbreath; and a sister, Marie Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
