Melvin William Marshall, 79, formerly of Brady, died Feb. 6 in a Dallas area hospital. Born June 3, 1924 in Brady, he lived in Brady for his entire life prior to moving to Garland when transferred by Intercontinental Manufacturing Company formerly located at Curtis Field Airport. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a loving husband, father, granddad and friend. He attended Orchard Hill Baptist Church in Garland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etois Ferguson Marshall, and also by his parents. Survivors include daughters Judy Shiel, Priscilla Mansfield and husband Robin, Nita Hawkins and husband Tom; son Edgar Marshall and wife Billie; six grandchildren; a brother Bill Jack Marshall and wife Marilee and a sister, Martha Jane McCall. Services were held on Feb. 8 at Restland Abby Chapel in Dallas.
