Mercury Ladies make tentative plans for April rummage sale

The monthly meeting of the Mercury Community Ladies Club was held on Tuesday, Feb. 19. President Peggy Ross called the meeting to order with a prayer and the Pledge to the Flag. The financial report was given by Secretary Violet Vick. It was approved and no new business was discussed. The rummage sale was discussed, but a date and time could not be agreed upon so a tentative date was set for around the first weekend in April. The ladies plan to have sandwiches, drinks, cakes and pies for sale. A suggestion was made that the ladies visit the Heart of Texas Historical Museum as one of their activities. Most of the ladies agreed with this suggestion. The meeting was adjourned with no further business to discuss. Bingo was played and refreshments were served afterwards by Violet Vick. A decorated cake was served in honor of Fay Knutson’s birthday. Prayer was asked for Eloise Ficke, who will have an angiogram in the Community Hospital in San Angelo. Those attending the meeting were Clova Bryson, Eloise Ficke, Arlie Penn, Annell Huffman, Betty Knutson, Linda Miller, Mrs. Smith, Peggy Ross, Mildred Weatherman, Fay Knutson, Wynell Chesney, Virginia Eckert, Winnie Camp, Mereta Brown and Violet Vick.
