Leonard Oscar Dahlberg, 91, of San Angelo and formerly of West Sweden and Melvin, died Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 2:45 a.m. at Concho Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eden after a long bout with Alzheimers. A graveside funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, Rev. Lloyd Clemens officiating. He was born July 14, 1910, in Brady. He married Rhodie Benson on Dec. 12, 1933 at the West Sweden Methodist Church. He later became a long-time member of the Melvin United Methodist Church. He was involved in farming and ranching in New Mexico and Pecos for many years and attended Business Mens Bible Class for a number of years. Survivors include a son, Lester Dahlberg and wife, Mary Louise, of Eldorado; two grandsons, Nicholas Dahlberg of Lake Jackson and Matthew Dahlberg and wife, Michele, of San Angelo; three great-grandchildren, Lily Morgan Dahlberg of Austin, Lindsey York and Dalton York, both of San Angelo; and a brother, David Dahlberg and wife, June, of Brady. The family requests that memorials be made to Meals for the Elderly or the West Texas Boys Ranch.
