Kerrville stepping stone for major stock show events

Advancing to the District Livestock Show in Kerrville in January, several McCulloch County 4-Hers and FFA exhibitors stepped into the arena and displayed the type of competitive spirit that can make all McCulloch Countians proud. The Kerrville show, while still one of significance, was a stepping stone for McCulloch exhibitors as many prepare for upcoming major attractions planned later this year. In the lamb division, Dylan Jacoby led the McCulloch County competitors with his third place finish in finewool followed by Adam Jacoby with a ninth place finish in finewool. Errett Edmiston had two qualifying showings, ninth and 14th place in Southdown. Reece Jacoby also had a 14th place finish with his Southdown. Zach Jones’ medium wool came in 21st place. Also exhibiting lambs was Holden Jacoby. Leslie Ranne earned Breed Champion for her Maine Anjou entry in the heifer division. In the meat goats division, Victoria Barksdale and Zach Jones both took honors with a ninth place finish while Jameson Leatherwood placed 20th. Also exhibiting meat goats were Martha Jones, Robert Leatherwood, Alexander Leatherwood, Leslie Ranne, Erica Paniagua, Abby Probst, Keely Probst, Cassidy Wienecke, Brady Donelson, Keagan Donelson and Cody Matheny. Robert Tetens exhibited in the Angora goats division.
