Mercury Assn. agrees to get old piano tuned

The Mercury Community Association met in regular meeting Feb. 3 in the Community Center with President Wynell Chesney presiding. The meeting was opened at 6:30 p.m. and started with prayer by Clyde Ray Chesney after which the minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. The finance report was given and accepted and there was no old business discussed. As new business, Fay Knutson wanted to donate a bulletin board to the Community Center. Chesney made a motion to accept it, Paul Tackett seconded the motion and the board was accepted. It was also brought up that we need to see about getting the piano tuned and fixed there at the center. Mrs. Knutson said the one at the American Legion also needed to be looked at. Peggy Ross said her son had restored and tuned old pianos before so Paul Tackett made a motion to have Rick Ross look at the piano and give an estimate of cost to fix it. Eloise Ficke seconded the motion, all were in favor of getting the estimate. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served buffet style. Chicken Foot was then played by all. Those attending were Glenn and Mildred Weatherman, Clyde Ray and Wynell Chesney, Eloise Ficke, Clive Mench, Opal Deeds, Paul Tackett, Fay Knutson and Peggy Ross.
