Thank you everyone for making our annual Mexican lunch a big hit in our community again. Words cannot express our appreciation to you for being so supportive and generous. You make it possible for us to continue serving those in need with our programs and activities at Helping Hands. The profit made last Saturday was $1,982. DOROTHY LAFUENTE, Director Aleta Kimbrough, Helping Hands Board Chairman Businesses donating toward the meal were: Super S Foods, McShans, Brady National Bank, Water Haven, Sonic, McDonalds, Tex-Mex Restaurant, El Flamingo, Texas Corral, Mac’s Barbecue, Country Kitchen, Convenient Cuisine, Field Creek Restaurant, Beta Tau Sorority and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Advertising and tickets were made available through the generosity of Brady Chamber of Commerce, Brady Standard-Herald, KNEL, Classic Cable, N Business Journal, St. Patricks Catholic Church, St. James Baptist Church and Malissa Regeon. Workers and cooks who assembled the delicious food were Jon Ed Weaver, Rosa and Fidencio Muniz, Irma Rodriquez, Elisa Sandoval, Celia Fernandez, Mary Ann Aguirre, Peggy Richter, Janet Harlow, Aleta Kimbrough, Grace Behrens, Sylvia Moreno, Simona Medrano, Elizabeth Land, Noemi Aguirre, Dee Self, Rosa Sandoval and Karin Farris. Desserts were furnished by board members, the planning committee and friends. Dee Self and Dolores Barton assisted. Door prizes were donated by Judy Gott, A-1 Bokay, Steffens, Evridges, Dee Self and Aleta Kimbrough. The recipients of the prizes were R.W. Cavin, Norma Ridout, Jana McBee, Kim King, Don West and Juliana Turner. Food deliveries were made possible by Mike Trollinger, Nick Blyshak, Don Summers, Rev. John Stewart, Jana McBee, Rhonda Gibson, Carol and John Stewart, Rev. Max Reynolds. Busy taking phone orders was Elizabeth Land. Cynthia Reeves sold tickets at the door. Music entertainment was provided by Louis Kimbrough, Tom Bishop and Pauline Longley. Other dear friends of Helping Hands assisting with their time, talent, funds, etc. were Carlos Richter, Sr., Sabina Perez, Pearlie Mae Williams, Aubrey and Betty Bierman, Mary Beth Nelin, Claire Winters, St. Patricks Catholic Church, Jacque Behrens and class members, Sara Howard and Brady Schools Cafeteria.
