Ken Winchester, 62, of Brady, died Thursday, Jan. 17 in Brady. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Joe Shaw officiating. Burial followed in Cowboy Cemetery. Pallbearers were Buck McKenzie, Stanford Dennis, Jr., H.E. Dennis, Lee Randolph, Corey Baker and Khas Baker. Born June 17, 1939 in Quanah, he was the son of Billy Ray Winchester and Minnie Hughes. His mother later married Isaac Allen who raised him. He married Betty Myers on Sept. 9, 2001 in Brady. He was a pumper in the oil field, a member of the Church of the Nazarene and loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Brady; two sons, Jimmy Winchester of Palestine and Kenny Winchester of Midland; a daughter, Connie Baker and her husband, Jesse, of Big Spring; two stepdaughters, Donna Jordan and her husband, Michael, of Brady and Kay Dennis and her husband, Stan, of Midland; two stepsons, Wayne Tomlinson of Tenn., and Carl Tomlinson of Brownwood; four brothers, Bill Winchester of Quanah, Gene Allen and Dean Allen of N. Mex., and Phil Allen of Ariz.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His mother, stepfather and grandmother preceded him in death.
