Teamed with the McCulloch County Texas Cooperative Extension, Jim Rooney, program assistant for Texas A&M Better Living for Texans, will present a series of six workshops titled “Healthy Living in Brady’Eat Well for Less”. The workshops are open to all McCulloch County citizens and will focus on food selection, protein, fat and carbohydrate facts, food storage and safety, menu planning, food purchasing and tips for better health. The workshop series start on Monday, Jan. 28 and end March 4. Other sessions will be held Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Brady Community Church building located on the San Angelo Highway (U.S. Hwy. 87 North). Participants will sit down to a pot luck meal at the end of the first class. Session coordinators encourage participants to bring their favorite food dish. A certificate of completionwill be given to those that attend all six sessions. Child care is not provided.
