Owen, Dean named to All-Texas band

ALL-STATE BAND SELECTIONS’Bryson Owen (left) and Russell Dean, both members of the Famed Brady Bulldog Band, were recently selected into the ATSSB All-State Band. They will perform with other All-State Band members during the annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23 in San Antonio. Bryson Owen and Russell Dean, both Famed Brady Bulldog Band members, were selected into the ATSSB All-State Band last Saturday following the area auditions that were held in Waco. For the second year in a row, they were selected for the honor and will be performing with the All-State Band in San Antonio on Saturday, Feb. 23 during the annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention. Dean, a junior at Brady High School, will be in the All-State Band for his third consecutive time playing the tuba. Owen, who is also a junior, will be performing on trombone. “These students continue to represent the FBBB and Brady in an outstanding manner,” said BHS band director Butch Crudgington. Two other outstanding members of the FBBB, Cara Crudgington and John Mireles, also auditioned last Saturday but were not selected to the All-State Band. These students, along with Dawn Mings, Michelle Devenport, John Williamson and Sterling Sammons, will be performing with the Region 7 All-Region Band in a concert which will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at Abilene Christian University at 7 p.m.
