Local business bestowed annual honor

The Brady Fire Department recently named Cellular One as the recipient of this year’s Howard Salter Business of the Year award. The memorial award is presented each year by the fire department recognizing a local business for its contributions to the community and to the department. Cellular one in a cooperated effort with EasTex Tower Services recently facilitated an antenna upgrade for the radio repeater used by the McCulloch County fire and emergency medical services. The antenna and a new higher capacity cable were raised on the radio tower at Lohn boosting the vertical location of the antenna from 80 feet to 400 vertical feet. ‘This award is just a way we can show Cellular One how much we appreciate all they have done for us,’ said Brady Volunteer Fire Department President Jesse Slaughter. ‘The new antenna height and new cable has dramatically improved our communication abilities with fire departments throughout the county.’ The award was presented to Cellular One president and CEO Kent Foster at a recent Cellular One meeting held at the Cafe at the Depot.
