Laura Ann Kyzar Yates, 95, died Saturday, Dec. 22 in Abilene. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Brady Cemetery, under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Born June 19, 1906 in Brown County, she was the daughter of Ben F. and Laura (Chrane) Hunt. She married Willard Kyzar on Nov. 9, 1927 in Brownwood. They lived in or near Brady from 1927 to 1988. She moved to Christian Villiage in Abilene on Nov. 1, 1988. She was an avid bridge player and an accomplished artist. Also, she was a member of the University Church of Christ in Abilene. In May of 1997, she married her second husband, Glenn Yates. Survivors include a son, Bob Kyzar and wife, Pat, of Florence, Ala.; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Don Willard Kyzar, who died at birth, Jan. 28, 1934; her husband, Willard Kyzar, Nov. 10, 1987; and Glenn Yates, her second husband, March, 1998.
