Wylie Dogs down Brady by 30, 63-33

Brady’s Bulldogs suffered a 30-point loss entering the holiday break here last Friday when Abilene Wylie hammered them, 63-33, in a non-district basketball game here on Dec. 21. The Bulldogs, 5-7 on the season, will be in the annual Brownwood Basketball Classic this weekend and were scheduled to meet Killeen Harker Heights in the opening round on Thursday. All teams will play three games at the tourney. Against Wylie, the Dogs fell behind early and trailed by 15-4 after the first period. It was 34-15 at halftime. Cole Whisenhunt led Brady’s scoring with nine points. Other Bulldog scorers were C.J. Villegas 7, Clifton Tally 2, Adrian Ni’o 2, Hunter Wilkinson 5, Blake Andrews 2, Johnny Menefield 5, and Samuel Torres 2. BHS head coach Shawn Dalbert had no comment on the game. The Bulldogs have two more non-district games after the Brownwood tournament before District 26-3A begins on Jan. 11 when Liberty Hill comes to town for the opener.
