Stearns investors must have claim forms in by Jan. 15

Attention Brian Stearns investors: Those who lost money in the Brian Russell Stearns incident must return the claim forms issued by the receiver in the case by Jan. 15, 2002, if you expect to get any money back. Nan Hazel, an attorney with the George & Donaldson law firm in Austin, said Tuesday that the company had received numerous phone calls from interested parties concerning the forms. “The firm is handling only the forms of our clients. We will send those forms in for them. If you are not a client of ours, you must report your own documented losses to the court-appointed receiver, Janet Mortenson, in Dallas by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2002,” Ms. Hazel said. She added that if you have any questions, you may call the law office in Austin. The phone number is 512/495-1424. Jim George told the Standard-Herald last week that he expected that checks would be mailed by the receiver by mid-February.
