Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Dec. 18 at noon at the Caf’ at the Depot. The Club voted to send a memorial gift in the amount of $100 to the Rotary Foundation in honor and in memory of long-time Rotary member A.J. Ricks. The members also decided to give $500 to the premium sale at the McCulloch County Junior Livestock Show in January. Program chairman Martin Leatherwood gave a vocational talk. He told of growing up in Missouri, then becoming a paramedic. He then became a mortician working for a large firm in Dallas. In 1993 he purchased the Colonial Funeral Home here in Brady, moving here with his wife and three children. He said that coordinating services with the family, church and friends is a priority of his. Lynn Munden won the $2 bill by being the first to guess that there were six numerals below five on today’s bill. There will be no Rotary meetings on Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1. Program chairman for Tuesday, Jan. 8 is Bill Mann.
