The Bangs tournament gave the Brady Middle School seventh grade girls’ teams a taste of competition last week. In the first game against the home team, the Bulldogs lost a close 25-21 desision knowing that many missed shots cost them the game. “We shot the ball 55 times and only made 12 baskets and one free throw,” said coach Mickey Holloway. “We struggled the entire game and despite being a much better team than they were, we just couldn’t get our shots to fall. We had every opportunity to score, it just wasn’t happening.” Bangs went on to play in the tournament championship. “I know that we would have been playing in that game if we could have gotten our act together,” said the coach. This was a very good tournament with good competition which gave our girls some more experience.” Scorers for Brady: Kelly Hyden 9, Kristen McBee 2, Amanda Vandine 2, Brittany Flores 2, Miranda Villarreal 4 and Lindsey Rutherford 2.
