Lady Hornets compare stingers with Lometa

The Rochelle Lady Hornets proved to be the stronger breed Tuesday night when the de-stung the Hornets from Lometa, 67-43. Tanda Cook delivered another powerhouse performance dropping 37 points again (last Friday she scored the same total against the Brady JV Lady Dogs). Adele Richardson was second on the record books with 18 points followed by Jacki Williams with 8. Kim Sparks and Samantha Bryson rounded out the scoring for the Lady Hornets with 2 points each. “Our offense started off slow and just kept getting stronger,” said Rochelle coach Mike Gardner. “Tanda had another good game with 37 points, and Adele Richardson had a good game, both in scoring and rebounding. “We were behind at the end of the first quarter, but the constant pressure at both ends of the floor finally broke them down. Like hockey, the body checking was intense.” Score by quarters: Rochelle 8 14 18 27’67 Lometa 10 11 11 11’43
