Seaman Justin W. Adams completed his basic training at Naval Training Command (NTC), Great Lakes Ill., Nov. 9 and is currently attending “A” school as a Hospital Corpsman at NTC. SN Adams joined the Navy after graduating from Brady High School in 1998 and later spent three years of extended education at Texas Tech University and South Plains College. He is the son of Jim and Judy Adams, of Tyler and formerly of Brady. His brother, Brandon Adams, lives in Lubbock and is currently attending Texas Tech University. SN Adams wishes to acknowledge and thank his friends and family for all the letters he has received since he’s been away. In addition, he wishes to extend a very special merry Christmas to his grandmother, Modine Adams of Brady. H Alex Corona has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year. The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college education. After completion of basic military training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job specialty. Corona, a 1999 graduate of Brady High School, will report to Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C., for basic training. He is the son of Estella Corona of 119 Nueva Drive, Brady, and Nicanor Corona of Bigfoot.
