Charlene Bratton Ramsey, 83, of Richardson and formerly of Brady, died Monday, Dec. 10 in Richardson. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brady. Burial followed in Rest Haven Cemetery, Father Max Reynolds officiating. Pallbearers were Roy Barton, Roger Clark, David Bratton, Marvin Mayfield, Bert Bratton, Jim Leary, Dudley Berquest, Mike Moore, Eddie Burk, Gene Tiemeyer, Lee Cotton and Marty Watson. Born Feb. 8, 1918 in Rochelle, she was the eldest child and only daughter of Charles Henry Bratton and Mabel (Byrd) Bratton. She was a 1935 graduate of Rochelle High School and a 1939 graduate of the Texas State College for Women. She was married to Dr. E.W. Ramsey. She was a loving mother, a homemaker and an Episcopalian. She was a longtime Texas resident, living in McCulloch County, Odessa, San Angelo, Austin and Richardson. She was a community volunteer and was very active in community affairs in Odessa. She is survived by three daughters, Sonja Emmrich of Richardson, Dixie Clark and husband, Roger, of Bedford and Mary Mayfield of Arlington; two sister-in-laws, Marge Bratton and Jerry Bratton, both of Brady; two grandchildren, Amber Mayfield and Tippi Watson; and two great-great grandchildren, Lucas and Jacob Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband and two brothers, Wesley and Richard Bratton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to Cal Farley’s Boys’ Ranch, P.O.
