The proceeds, raised by students and faculty members at Brady Elementary School, will benefit the proposed expansion project for F.M. Richards Memorial Library. Students at Brady Elementary School recently completed a fund-raiser to support the proposed expansion project for F.M. Richards Memorial Library. Earlier this week, proceeds from this effort totaling $1,290 were presented to Jerry Betsill, chairman of the Library Association, and Ann Shuffler, library director by Brady Elementary School Principal Kelley Hirt. Betsill reported that the school’s contribution, which was raised through the hard work of both students and staff at Brady Elementary, will bring the amount still needed to complete the project to less than $3,000. The total cost of the project is $181,000, and the expansion will increase usable space at the library by 1,500 square feet (approximately 50 percent). Ground breaking for the project should begin around May 2002. “The community of Brady has been very generous in responding to fund-raising efforts for the project, and everyone is reminded that the Library Association is a tax-exempt organization,” said Betsill. “With the end of the year fast approaching, now is the time to make a donation. For those who prefer to make the gift for tax-year 2002, the fund-raising effort is scheduled to run through Jan. 31, 2002.”
